Epilogue

March 2010

Tubewalking in Toronto isn't all that interesting. The vast majority of it is on streets with two to three story buildings, where the main floor is retail or restaurants, and the upper floors are apartments. The only real difference is the price of goods sold in the stores.

The most interesting walk was the University-Spadina line. It had very little of the standard retail space. It had glass and steel skyscrapers, Queens Park, the ivy-covered buildings of the University of Toronto, the ROM, the Toronto archives, Castle Loma, and some nice ravines. The least interesting walk was the Sheppard line.

My biggest discovery was the Toronto archives. The room containing all the archives reminded me of the room at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, except it was more orderly.

I borrowed Ursula's point-and-shoot digital camera for this. I discovered that I don't like taking pictures with digital point-and-shoot cameras.

It would've been nicer to do this in the summer. There would have been lots of nice spots for picnic lunches along the way, instead of holing up in a mall.

Anyway, it was a good way to start my layoff.

I didn't see a single TTC workers asleep on the job.
